From Player to Sponsor: The Power of Community Sport

2015 as a Player
2020 as a Coach
2025 as a Sponsor Complete Health Group

I’m pictured here with my Uncle Eddie at the Pearses Melbourne 7 a side Gaelic Football Tournament. Remarkably Uncle Ed has managed to wear the same supporters T-Shirt to all 3 events!

Our Community Sports Clubs really are great organisations. In 2013-14, The Australian Bureau of Statistics estimated that 28% of Australians were involved in organised Sport and Physical activity. This didn’t have to be as a player/coach but could also have been as a referee, committee member or Sports Administrator. 18% of these individuals were over 65 🧑‍🦳👩‍🦳

It is heart warming to see my Uncle Ed in these pictures and it makes me think of the over 65s population who stay part of these clubs in small ways, and not so small ways. Listening to my clients I appreciate that what keeps them going later in life is serving a purpose and being part of something bigger than themselves. Our sporting clubs and community organisations certainly serve this purpose.

So here’s to our Oldies, they don’t make them like they used to.
